Company description:: The Parliament of Canada officially recognized February as Black History
Month in 1995. Although black communities have existed across Canada
and contributed immensely to the national landscape since before
confederation, the Canadian public generally receives little education
about Canada's African Heritage. In response to this identified need
Black in Time*Toronto is being made available to schools (elementary,
secondary and post-secondary) as well as community and corporate
organizations wishing to celebrate Canada's rich diversity.
The high-energy 45-minute to hour long performance includes, live
drumming, dance and spoken word poetry. Audiences will participate in
contemporary and traditional artistic forms used to convey Toronto's
often untold stories in an entertaining way.
